Winter is here. It is time to wrap shawls and to wear sweaters. December is also the perfect time for food and travel.
Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad is organizing the National Conference on 26th December 2009 till 29th December 2009.
Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad held its first National Conference at New Delhi on 7th and 8th November 1992. Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad was formed with a object of resurrecting Bharatiya Values and ingraining idealism in the hearts of Advocates for improving the efficiency and standard of Bar and Judiciary in the country. One of the objects of Adhivakta Parishad is to take review of working of Indian Constitution and laws from time to time. The theme topic of the present National Conference to be held at Delhi in December 2009 is “60 years of constitution-a road ahead.”
In view of the holding of National Conference at Delhi, the editorial Board decided to bring special issue of “Nyaya Pravaha” on the theme topic.
Today world is rapidly changing. World is faced with recession and financial crisis. Most of the financial institution in the foreign Countries had collapsed. Unemployment is on the rise, atmosphere around the world is gloomy. The democracy in neighbouring Countries is in peril. Super powers are becoming more and more ambitious. Nuclear and Chemicals Weapons are dominating the world and terrorism is shattering the developing Countries. The world is under fear psychosis.
Where we stand, today? We are having the democracy, autonomous Election Commission, independent judiciary and written constitution to walk down the path, but we are faced with numerous problems. After 60 years of working of constitution, we feel that, some Sections of the Society are still deprived of basic needs and rights.
There are unorganized sections in the Indian Society and we need to pay full attention to them. There are Tribals, Denotified Communities, bonded Labour, children and women, who are not fully developed. We are still away from women reservation in Parliament. Minority Commissions at various levels are flooded with petitions and requests for getting protections as minorities under the Constitution. The religious groups, small tribes and casts in the Society are made assertive by Political Parties for benefits, over looking the National interest. We are not in a position to address ourselves adequately to the issues of environmental changes and the increased influence of pollution. Government Officers, Political Leaders are engaged in corrupt practices, vote bank politics compelled the Political Parties to appease the minorities.
Fresh thinking is therefore, necessary on all legal and constitutional aspects. The issues of secularism, minorities, their rights, the question of sustainable development, the rights of women and children and their complete development are required to be re-addressed.
The lawyers being the vanguard of Society should lead the Country again.
Delhi National Conference may play key role in preparing the mind sets of the legal fraternity to bring the Country on real path.
